Volker is a Research Scientist in the Smart Data Group, where he works at the intersection of geospatial intelligence and machine learning. His research spans Geospatial AI, environmental Digital Twins, and ML applications for power grids – turning complex spatial data into actionable insight. He is familiar with major European data platforms (DestinE, EDITO, Copernicus Marine Services, Copernicus Data Space Environment, …) and cloud-native storage and processing.
