SINTEF has extensive experience conducting travel behaviour studies. Our organization has received acknowledgment for our expertise in processes governing transportation needs and travel behaviours.
We work within the following fields:
Results obtained from travel behaviour studies are used to document the time-dependence of behaviour changes and to study effects of specific measures in transportation systems.
This may involve the introduction of urban rail transits or other measures affecting transportation demands, such as toll road systems. Data from travel surveys are also included in the transport models used in transport planning.
SINTEF is actively developing new data acquisition methods for travel behaviour studies by utilizing new and innovative technologies.
